CIS SIGNED THE CONTRACT WITH THE EMBASSY OF JAPAN FOR IMPROVING THE LIVELIHOOD OF HABIGANJ PEOPLE.

Community Initiative Society (CIS) is a non-government, community-focused, self-financed
international humanitarian organization. Since Inception CIS is supporting human rights, community, and social empowerment, disaster management, climate change, refugee response, relief and development aid, health risk management, innovation, capacity building, sustainable development, and livelihood improvement.

CIS is working in Habiganj District since 2014. With the support of SAMSUNG, Hope Bridge Korea, Community Chest of Korea, and Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management established a Health Care Center to provide medical services to improve the health conditions of the community & healtheducational programs. Moreover, CIS is organizing monthly Health camps in underprivileged rural areas of Habiganj and every year continue to respond to the Flood and other disaster Emergency Responses. CIS has also worked very extensively on COVID-19 response throughout Habiganj. Also, CIS and A-PAD are jointly working on a Capacity Building Project for the Establishment and Sustainable Management of a Multi-sector Platform for Disaster Management.

On 15th March 2022 CIS has been awarded by the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh for the project of the “Construction of a Community Skill Development center in Habiganj District”.

With the support of the GGHSP funding, CIS will construct a two-storied Community Skill Development Center in Habiganj district to provide vocational training to the youth and women who are socially and economically vulnerable. The goal of the Project is Rural Development and alleviation of poverty and unemployment through the creation of basic social and economic security with the provision of training to build up a resilient community in Bangladesh.
