Rohingya Response

The communal violence in Rakhine state on 25 August 2017 caused the massive influx of over 700,000 Myanmar nationals to seek refuge in Bangladesh. Since the beginning of the exodus, CIS and Dhaka Community Trust Hospital in collaboration with Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD), GEA Search and Rescue Humanitarian Aid and Medical Team (Turkey), Peace Winds Japan (PWJ), MERCY Malaysia started to provide essential humanitarian assistance and healthcare including treatment for gunshot wounds and burn, emergency obstetric care, sexual and reproductive health, and gender-based violence case management including clinical management of rape
